My favourite film

My favourite film is The Matrix. Well, it's not a film but a trilogy, but i can't choose which part is better. Film tells us that we don't live in real world, but we are human bateries attached to power station and plugged in fiction world, where everything looks like today. Morpheus, other pplugged-out people and inhabitants of only free human city, Zion are fighting with machines for existance. But only Morpheus believes that war can be finished on the other way, by finind The one. So whole trilogy is about Neo, who is suposed to be The one.
In film is a lot of action, fighting and shooting. There aren't any new techniques used in it. Only thing that makes it special is using of slow-motion. In several parts of film is used when they avoid when fighting and shooting. It looks really cool.
If u haven't seen it yet, you must, because is a cult film, filled with action and can be enjoyed by everyone.

More about swimming

I will tell you how our trainings look like. Normal training for our generation is 4-5 kilometers long. It's divided in few series. In most of series we practise our style by some exercises. Training today was 4 kilometers long. This is how it looked like:

- 600 meters, 200 backstroke exercises, 200 breaststroke exercises and 200 freestyle exercises
- 10 times 100 meters medley (look post below)
-6 times 100 meters style (your best style) exercises
-10 times 100 meters very fast, 5 times front crawl and 5 times your style
-20 times 25 meters butterfly, 10 times start on 40 seconds, next 10 start on 35 seconds

Between series there are some parts where we just swim and relax, prepare for next series.

Now I'll tell some exercises for diffirent styles.

Butterfly exercises: 3,3,3- three times with only right arm, 3 times with left arm and 3 times both arms.
3,3- three times woth left arm, 3 times with right arm

Backstroke exercises: Arm waits arm-second arm starts moving when other makes whole circle and touches it
Rotating hand-between above water part of circle hand rotates 3 times

Breaststroke: 2,1- 2 times legs kick then 1 time with arms
Sliding-swimmer waits and slides through the water

Freestye: Arm waits arm-second arm starts moving when other makes whole circle and touches it
Arm hunts arm-second arm starts moving when other makes almost whole circle and before it touches it

Thats it for this week blog.

Barcelona

Between this year autumn holidays our family took a trip to Barcelona. Because our plane was damaged we needed to wait until next plane, which was six hours later. When we arrived to Barcelona, we landed at 2 am and rent-a-car was closed, so we took a taxi. Next day we started with sightseeing at 11 o’clock. We bought tickets for metro and trams for easier moving in city. Then we walked past Museum of Catalonian art (on Mondays all museums and galleries are closed) to city hill Monjuic. Olympic park from year 1992, when Olympic Games were in Barcelona, is also on that hill. After seeing some of stadiums and pool, we went past city graveyard. It was a bit unusual because graves weren’t dug into earth but built into walls. Those walls are up to 5 floors high and only way to get up is by ladder. On the highest point of hill is fort and few cannons from different centuries are there next to building. In fort there is Military museum. Unfortunately it was closed. Then we descend down hill and stopped at square with statue of Christopher Columbus who points to America (he should, with direction he would arrive to Antarctica). After that we walked on most known street la Rambla. Our next destination was Sagrada familia. This famous church built by one of most famous architect Gaudi. Gaudi died before building was completed and work stayed for half a century. Now they are completing it. Park that we were going to look next was also built by Gaudi. Park Guell used to be suburbia of Barcelona but the project fell trough. Park is on the top of the same name hill and it’s full of cactuses. There are also beautiful houses and benches on the end of park and all made of mosaic. We were very tired that day because we walked for 14 kilometres. First thing next day was to look into Barcelona sports club museum. Prices were high and many people waited to enter so we just look into shop. I got sweater there. Last thing that we meant to see was barque part of city. Then we went to Andorra, small country on border between France and Spain. There are low taxes so many rich man come to live there and there are many shops. 70 square meters big apartment costs 400.000 €. You can buy a house with that money in Slovenia. In the evening we went in the biggest spa in Europe. Only thing wrong there was that they didn’t want to sell us family tickets because I was too old. Next day we look at city and went into France by mountain passes. We just passed France to get back to Spain. In Figueres we went into museum of Salvador Dali. Unfortunately museum closed before we managed whole museum. We bought some copies of his pictures. Last day we got up early because we got plane early in the morning. Finally we got home with many new experiences.

Swimming

Because it didn't happen anything extraordinary last week I'll write about my sport, swimming. I've been swimming for last 5 years. We got trainings every day except Sunday and we must go at least once to a morning training. OK, now about some general facts. There are four main styles of swimming:

Freestyle (front crawl) which is the fastest style, arms are moved alternately and legs too. In freestyle swimmer could actually swim any style however it must remain the same during race.
Look video

Butterfly- arms move simultaneously above water and legs simultaneously move up and down. It's the second fastest and most difficult style.
Look video

Breaststroke- arms move under water and legs kick wide. The best results are achieved by good technique, swimmer's power is not so important.
Look video

Backstroke- similar to front crawl but swimmer lies on its back.
Look video

We swim in pools with 8 lanes . Best lane is number 4 followed by 5, 3, 6, 2, 7, 1 and 8. We are divided in few age groups (young boys/girls, boys/girls, cadets, youths, members and veterans). Currently I belong to boys. National championship is twice a year. At the end of each championship there's a habit that all swimmers jump into water with all clothes on.
Hopefully that's enough for everybody.

*On this videos there is myself 1 year ago. I have improved my technique a lot since filming. To spectators it may look OK, but to my trainer not really.

Our school

Our school is quite good. It can't be good because is school. We are in a big school with an average of 100 pupils per generation. There's big difference between our and lets say schools in Ljubljana. Here everything is better. Teachers are kinder, we don't pass so many tests and lessons are more fun. In big group of children there are many smart, but also some who like to break rules. Unfortunately that's not just our schools problem. I'm happy that we good teacher and extra classes where we can do harder exercises. That's very good and we can achieve better results at competitions. Since we have 9-year elementary school, we also have "chosen subjects" and "levelled classes". OK, this is not only at our school but in all Slovenia. In our school, which is divided in 2 buildings (smaller for pupil's to 3rd class and bigger for all other's) we have 3 gyms. 1 is in smaller building, biggest at bigger and one which is part of Partizan complex. Unfortunately Partizan gym is under repair and 50 pupils must be in one gym. This is our school and if you think its great please abort your school and come to ours.

Thank you for reading.

Barcelona

Dokončevanje so začeli šele pred 20 leti in še vedno ni dokončana. Ogledali smo si tudi drugo stvaritev Gaudija, park Guell. Motilo me je le ker nam niso hoteli prodati družinskih kart, ker imam 13 let, za njih pa so otroci le do 12 leta. Naslednji dan smo si šli najprej ogledati mesto, saj smo morali s potjo hitro nadaljevati. Na žalost si muzeja nismo uspeli ogledati v celoti, ker so ga prej zaprli. Kupili smo tudi nekaj kopij njegovih slik. Zadnji dan smo morali kar zgodaj vstati, saj smo imeli zgodnje letalo. Kočno smo prispeli nazaj v Slovenijo, izboljšani z novimi izkušnjami.
